Doudekovata Kashta

The house in which Petar Shtarbanov -a member of the Temporary revolutionary Government - killed himself in an uneven battle with the enemy's soldiers to prevent them for catching him alive.

The house was built in 1853-1856 by the symmetrical design of the Plovdiv houses. The facade with a trapezium fronton above the colonnaded entrance gives the house an impressive look.

It was restored in the period 1990-1996. The exhibition shows the household of a wealthy Panagyurishte merchant on the eve of the April Uprising. There is a memorial corner dedicated to the Panagyurishte inhabitants killed in the house on 30 April 1876 in the basement.
