Bulgaria lies in southeastern Europe, it is situated in the north-eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula. The country shares the lands of the ancient Thracians. It’s area is 111 000 sq km, bounded by Romania, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Greece and Turkey. It is a parliamentary republic. The population consists of 8 million people, who speaks Bulgarian as an official language. The official unit of currency is called Lev.
The climate is intermediate continental with marked Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Bulgaria has amazing variety of landforms, which makes her a fovourable place for every person with sense of nature. Here you can see Musala (2925 m), the highest peak in the Balkans. The Danube river makes a picturesque mark on the north boundary and on the east stands the Black Sea with its 300 km long shore. And it is not all!
There are only few countries in the world, who have as vivid history and culture as Bulgarian. There are à variety of ancient and medieval relics-necropolises, settlements, fortresses, roads, bridges and fountains. People, who lives in the ancient lands ot Spartacus and Orpheus are from different nationalities and ethnic groups, but all of them are friendly and hospitable, ready to help you and share their daily life with a smile.
