The Pazardzhik municipality was the birthplace and a favourable environment for the work of eminent artists of national and European renown - Konstantin Velichkov, Elissaveta Konoulova-Vazova, Georgi Mashev, Georgi Gerassimov, Dimitar Kazakov-Neron, Zlatka Dabova, Velichko Minekov, Ivan Spassov, etc.
The rich cultural and historical heritage of the municipality has been preserved and exhibited in the preserved houses of the painter Stanislav Dospevski, the eminent National Revival writer, translator and painter Konstantin Velichkov and the rich merchant Nikola Hristovich.
The Historical Museum in Pazardzhik with its over 33 000 exhibits shows the interesting past of the Pazardzhik region from its most ancient times to the present. The exhibition is displayed in seven halls.
Stanislav Dospevski Art Gallery
The gallery was founded in 1966. It specializes most of all in the presentation of local artists, including the classic figures Stanislav Dospevski, Konstantin Velichkov, Georgi Mashev, Georgi Gerassimov, Elissaveta Konoulova-Vazova, etc. It possesses a rich collection of portraits and self-portraits from the collections of Georgi Gerassimov, Stoyan Vassilev, Velichko Minekov and Zlatka Dabova.
