Bulgaria's unemployment rate drops steadily

Bulgaria's unemployment rate for September has dropped, following the steady trend of recession that started in the beginning of the year.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy announced that the unemployment rate for September is 10.49% which shows a of 0.28% compared to the same period last year.

For a one-year period between September 2004 and 2005, the number of registered unemployed people has dropped by 46,000, and the unemployment rate has slumped down by 1.25%.

The Bulgarian Employment Agency has launched two new projects in September. The first one, dedicated to young people who have dropped out of high-school aims at their social adaptation and at increasing their employment abilities by providing them with vocational education. The second one is called "Teachers in extracurricular activities and vacations" and aims at increasing employment opportunities for unemployed teachers by including them in extracurricular student activities.
