Govt, employers, syndics sign pact for Bulgaria development

A Pact for economic and social development in Bulgaria will be signed by the country's Cabinet, the employers' organization and the leaders of the trade unions.

The decision for the signing of the pact was taken at Thursday's meeting of Bulgaria's government with representatives these organizations. For the first time we witness such a serious attitude of the government towards the social dialogue, both the employers and the leaders of the trade unions agreed. We are heading towards something really important, Dikran Tabeyan, deputy Chief of Bulgarian Industrial Chamber commented.

The agreement that will be signed will highlight the principles and the main ideas of Bulgaria's economical and social policy. The Pact for economic and social development in Bulgaria is expected to be ready in one month.

The meeting was initiated by Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev and was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Disasters Management Minister Emel Etem, Social Minister Emilia Maslarova, Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski and Economy and Energy Minister Rumen Ovcharov.
