Skyscraper to rise at Bulgaria's coastline

Date: 16.12.2005

Bulgaria's seaside city of Bourgas might soon have a 154 m skyscraper.

The Bulgarian company "On-Time Distribution and Logistics" has already consulted the authorities and started geological studies of the chosen terrain, media said Tuesday.

In three years, the needle-shaped large building should be cleaving the clouds over the Sea Garden, at about 50 metres from the beach.

The 50-million-euro skyscraper is expected to have 45 floors.

While the entrepreneurs seem enthusiastic, a number of Bourgas residents have opposed the plan. They fear that the edifice might damage part of the Sea Garden, media disclosed.
