Balkan presidents meet to discuss infrastructure

Date: 17.12.2005

Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia's presidents gathered in Ohrid to discuss the joint infrastructure projects between the three countries.

Georgi Parvanov, Boris Tadic, and Branko Crvenkovski also discussed Parvanov's idea of a regional share in the building of Belene Nuclear Power Plant.

Macedonia claimed to be ready for such a project, while Serbia's Tadic promised to bring it up in his country.

The Thursday dialogue was a sign to the European leaders who gathered the same day, Parvanov said. He added that Bulgaria was not only interested in the January 1, 2007 accession, but also in the European future of the whole region.

Kosovo was also a topic in the talks of the three presidents, as Tadic announced that he supported a just resolution of the conflict that would be accepted both by the Serbians and the Albanians in the area.
