Bulgaria's GDP Q3 growth slows down to 4.6%

Date: 23.12.2005

Bulgaria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) totaled BGN 11.619 B in the third quarter of 2005, marking an increase of 4.6 % year-on-year, according to official data.

GDP per capita is BGN 1493, according to data of the National Statistical Institute.

The pace of GDP growth in the third quarter of the year has slackened in comparison with the first and second quarter, which registered a growth of 6% and 6.4%.

Last year Q3 GDP marked an increase of 5.8% over the same period last year.

Experts attribute the slow-down in economic growth to a fall by 6.6% in the agriculture sector, 12% in the transport sector, processing and tobacco industry and no more than 0.9% growth in exports.
