Bulgaria makes efforts to improve life of Roma people

Bulgarian government announced today it had adopted program for improving life conditions of Roma people as part of international efforts for Roma people integration, AFP informs.

“The aim is to improve the relations between the local authorities and the government with the civil organizations in such a way in which to guarantee the improvement of life standard or Roma people” Bulgarian government statement reads.

This is only one of Bulgarian initiatives included in adopted in February project for countries in central and eastern Europe. According to the document the standard of life of the Roma people has to improve in 10 years.

The program, also called “Decade of Roma Inclusion”, provides funding for constructing 30,065 new houses in the next ten years. The program will help 412,000 people in 88 Bulgarian towns to live better.
