Polish Travel Agents to Increase Number of Bulgaria Bookings

Date: 27.06.2006

Some of the major Polish travel agents plan to increase the number of bookings for this year's summer season in Bulgaria.

Agents like Itaka, Ecco Holiday, Open Travel Group, Adriatyk, Selva Travel and Alfa Star have decided to undertake that step due to the increased interest in the Balkan country as a tourism destination.

Increased interest is also observed in offering high category accommodation, the State Tourism Agency said. More than 25 Polish tour operators and travel agencies have included Bulgaria as a destination in their catalogues.

Poland is a traditional market for Bulgaria and over the last five years there is a considerable growth in the number of the tourists. In 2005 some 113 544 Polish tourists have visited Bulgaria thus going up by 4,37 % as compared to 2004.
