German Experts Predicts Decline in Bulgaria's Tourism Sector

The perspectives ahead of the Bulgarian summer tourism are not very bright after back in 2000 the country was among the top destinations on the German market it is now registering a decline.

That is the conclusion of the report of the specialized German edition Touristik Report analysing the development of the seasons in some of the main tourism destinations for the German tourists. The article dedicated to Bulgaria cited German tourism officials as saying that the Bulgarian companies have not taken advantage of the 2000 boom to establish loyalty among the foreign tourists and to attract them again.

The specialized edition also pointed out some of the main problems of the Bulgarian tourism sector - over construction, lack of competitiveness with the other Balkan destinations and high prices. The quality of the services and the poor infrastructure are also said to be main drawbacks of the Bulgarian tourism sector.
