New Treasures Excavated Near Dabene

Date: 11.08.2006
A new finding was unearthed near the central Bulgarian village of Dabene where the unique gold and platinum dagger believed to be 5000 years old was found. The archeologists, headed by Martin Hristov excavated a big clay vessel. A golden plaque, two silver vessels and ancient pottery were placed inside the vessel. The artifacts resemble the ones found at the site of ancient Troy. Two ritual silver and bronze knives were found beside the vessel. The region appears to be a ritual site where Proto-Thracians buried gifts for the gods, say archeologists.
