Mercury Hits 42°C in Bulgaria Sunday

Bulgarians and visitors to the country are in for another scorcher this week as the mercury is expected to zoom up to 42°C on Sunday.

The citizens of Sandanski, Plovdiv, and Vidin will swelter through the hottest days, weather forecasters say.

The unseasonably hot weather will be here throughout the week, with temperatures varying between 32-37°C by Wednesday, to be followed by rainy spells.

Tourists along the Black Sea coast will enjoy sunny weather and Mediterranean-like sea waves, the temperature of the water due to reach 25-26°C.

Temperatures will come off the boil on August 24, but will be still hot, with Sofia enjoying a steamy 25-30°C.
