Romania's President Attends Book Premiere in Burgas

Date: 07.09.2006

Mircea Cartarescu promoted his bestseller "Why Do We Love Women" in the Bulgarian coastal city of Burgas. Romania's former president Emil Constantinescu, Honorary Consul of Romania in Burgas Evegenia Popescu and MP Liuben Dilov Jr. attended the premiere. The author gave out hundreds of autographs.

"While I was writing my books it was really hard for me to remain Mircea Cartarescu and not turn into Paulo Coelho," said the author jokingly.

Before leaving Burgas Mr. Constantinescu was presented with a 33-year-old cognac.

The 50-year-old Romanian writer has published more than 20 books with poetry, essays, prose. "Why Do We Love Women" is a witty book about the eternal war between the two sexes.
