Macedonia Defends NPP Kozloduy in Brussels

Date: 16.09.2006

Macedonia intends to submit a request to the EU to postpone the decommissioning of Bulgaria's NPP Kozloduy.

Macedonia will suffer severe power shortage after the decommissioning of the third and fourth power units of NPP Kozloduy at the end of the year. As a result, there will be a drastic hike in the price of electricity. The prices of electricity in Macedonia will go up at the end of the year because of higher prices of imported electricity.
