IMF Pleased with Bulgaria's Fiscal Policy

The International Monetary Fund has highly assessed Bulgaria's fiscal policy that will provide stable economic and political framework for the country's EU accession.

IMF promised to keep supporting Bulgaria, it emerged after a meeting of Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev and Robert Hagemman, Chief of the IMF mission in Bulgaria.

The meeting was also participated by Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski and the new IMF Resident Representative in Sofia Juan Jose Fernandez- Ansola.

PM Stanishev pointed out the basic aims of country's budget for 2007 are to hold a line of wise fiscal policy and steady economical growth.

"Bulgaria's integration on the common EU market will be the country's biggest challenge", said Stanishev.

IMF experts urged Bulgaria to keep up the good work in attaining macroeconomic stability.

Bulgaria's Premier once again vowed the government's determination to maintain the macroeconomic stability at high temps of economic growth.
