Sofia Citizens to Test Ice-Skating Skills in Open-Air Rink

Date: 10.11.2006

Sofia will offer a new thrill to its citizens this winter, opening a huge open-air ice-rink.

Organizers from Communication 2002 and Programata Media Group have told Darik News that the rink, spreading on 600 square meters, will open November 25.

Following the tradition of some European capitals, the "Ice Park" facility will be located right next to one of Sofia's symbols - the National Palace of Culture and will stay open until March.

The rink and the "fun zone" around it will be open from ten in the morning until ten in the evening and an hour and a half of skating will cost BGN 3.

The capacity of the rink is 200 people, but those waiting for their turn will have another 700 square meters to roam with live music and heated areas where food and drinks will be served.

Such facilities will also open in mountain pearl Bansko, and the southern city of Haskovo.
