PM Stanishev invites more investors

Date: 26.01.2007

"Austria is investor number one in Bulgaria, but I think that the maximum level of foreign investments in this country has not been reached yet," Bulgaria's Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev said in an interview for Der Standard.

According to PM Stanishev, Bulgaria's EU membership will have a decisively positive influence on the flow of Austrian investments into the Bulgarian economy.

"We are currently introducing the EU regulations in all spheres of life and these regulations, in combination with a rapid economic growth, increasing number of qualified specialists and a general stability, will help the Austrian companies, based in Bulgaria, to make profit and be more competitive on a global level," Stanishev went further.

He also pointed out that one of the Government's goals was to create an even better climate for foreign investments. Mr. Stanishev thanked the Austrian representatives in the EU for their assistance in the preparation of Bulgaria's accession and defined the Vienna-Sofia relations as perfect in every aspect - political, economic and cultural.

"Stability and predictability of the processes on the Western Balkans will take priority among our common objectives in terms of foreign policy," Stanishev said also.
