After the End of the World - cinema masterpiece

The film "After the End of the World" remains in the history of Bulgarian filmmaking as a masterwork of the Bulgarian cinema. It boasts the largest number of international film awards: Karlovy Vary, Moscow, Jerusalem, Berlin, Thessalonica, Bursa, Verona...

The film, directed by Ivan Nichev reveals the Bulgarians' very soul. Various episodes of Bulgaria's resent history are showed in an honest, open and direct way. The film takes the viewer on a journey to the communist Bulgaria and relates of its post-communist present.

Ivan Nichev is one of the most respected Bulgarian film directors, who can give life and energy to even the simplest plot.

The story unfolds in Plovdiv - an idyllic place, where religious tolerance is part of the town's life. Bulgarians, Turks, Armenians and Greek live in peace and harmony. Muslims and Christians drink coffee together and discuss the beautiful women that pass by...
