After it joins the European Economic Area (EEA) Bulgaria will receive 21.5 million euro.

On March 29 Cabinet approved progress in the talks for Bulgaria’s accession to the EEA.

Bulgaria applied for accession in July 2005. The official entry documents are still to be signed.

The provisional funds that Bulgaria and Romania will receive from 2007 to 2009 are 72 million euro.

Some of the priority spheres, included in the already functioning EEA financial mechanisms, include environmental preservation, production encouragement, the usage of renewable energy sources and more efficient resource management.

Norway offered talks on further co-operation for economic development and sustainable growth in Bulgaria and Romania.

The country will provide Bulgaria and Romania with 68 million euro by 2009. The funds that Bulgaria will get total nearly 20 million euro.
