Nearly 1500 people experience Honky Tonk fest in Bulgaria

Nearly 1 500 people took part in the second edition of the live music fest Honky Tonk in Bulgaria held in the town of Blagoevgrad.

The one-night event offered 20 concerts in 11 clubs in the town, Honky Tonk Bulgaria representative Mariana Cholakova said.

Honky Tonk's idea is to offer simultaneous concerts in many locations during one night. The festival has been taking place since 1993 and so far involved cities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland.

The first Bulgarian Honky Tonk edition happened in Plovdiv and attracted between 2 200 and 2 500 mind the population of the town it had less success than the one held in Blagoevgrad, Cholakova said.

With every following event the Honky Tonk event will get more successful, Cholakova said.

The second edition of the festival in Blagoevgrad is expected to take place in 2008.
