IMF praises Bulgaria's fiscal policy

Date: 26.10.2007

The International Monetary Fund has assessed Bulgaria's fiscal policy as judicious and has voiced support for the Bulgarian government's view of sticking to the Currency Board in the country until it joins the Euro zone.

Deputy Finance Minister Dimitar Ivanovski delivered the news after he attended the annual IMF and World Bank meet in Washington.

He also attended conferences with the senior managements of both institutions.

World Bank officials have said the Bank would continue its support for Bulgaria even after the country joined the European Union in the reform processes of public health, education and social policies.
