Cultural tourism is possible in the Western border regions

Date: 05.11.2007
The Bulgarian churches, monasteries and chapels in the Western border regions could be a prerequisite for the development of cultural tourism, Zdenka Todorova, author of the book Sanctuaries separated by borders which examines the spiritual sanctuaries in the Western border regions separated by the Bulgarian – Serbian border and by the Peace Treaty of Neuilly. According to her the Bulgarians on the two sides of the border could be spiritually connected and should meet more often with the initiative to popularize these regions part of which are Western but the other part is dabbled in politics by the Serbian Orthodox Church which is the case with the Poganovo Monastery. She thinks that the goal should be more projects, more initiatives, more common campaigns.
