Bulgarians are no longer second category clients in Bulgarian resorts

Date: 20.11.2007

The prices of tourist services in Bulgaria will go up slightly because of Bulgaria’s accession to the EU, Blagoy Ragin, Chairman of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.

According to Ragin hotel managers will be very careful when pushing up prices of tourist services because “we want to be more attractive for the international market”.

“My colleagues have finally understood Bulgarians are the best clients, and now all hotel managers put aside a percentage of their bed capacity for Bulgarians. Bulgarians are consumers as well – they go to restaurants and bars in the evening,” Ragin noted.

According to him the campaign that was held to attract Bulgarian tourists has yielded a positive result because Bulgarian citizens felt flattered. The Chairman of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association explained that hotel managers used to regard Bulgarians as second category of clients, but now they do not.
