Date: 30.05.2008

Bulgarian Economy and Energy Minister Petar Dimitrov and the German ambassador to Bulgaria Michael Geier have signed signed on May 26 2008 the last of a series of agreements on technical co-operation between the two countries.

The agreement envisages that Germany grant four million euro for consulting activities and transfer of knowledge and experience under four projects – a programme for the encouragement of economy and employment (3 255 000 euro), encouragement of professional training (250 000 euro), encouragement of meteorology (95 000 euro) and regional development of the Rhodope Mountains (400 000 euro), Bulgaria's Economy and Energy Ministry said.

According to Dimitrov, during the transition years Bulgaria received more than 300 million euro from Germany in aid.
