Disabled people to take at Least 1% of state servants' posts in Bulgaria

Date: 12.11.2008

At least one percent of the positions in Bulgaria's state administration have to be taken by disabled people as provided by amendments in the State Servant law adopted by the Parliament at first reading on Friday.

The body that is to appoint the new clerks is expected to announce a competition at least once in every four months until the vacant posts are filled.

If such a duty is neglected, those responsible will be imposed a fine set at between BGN 2,000 and BGN 5,000.

That money will be granted to the Disabled People Agency for financing work and training programs.
