Bulgarian, Romanian factories want to outsource to Serbia

Date: 14.11.2008

The head of the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency Vesna Peric has stated that Bulgarian and Romanian factories wanted to relocate their manufacturing operations to Serbia.

According to Peric, about 20 Bulgarian and Romanian companies were considering outsourcing their manufacturing to Serbia as a consequence of the global economic crisis.

She also said the foreign companies in question were from the auto industry including car batteries producers. Reports in Serbian media point out that the foreign businesses were putting their plans to relocate to Serbia on hold because of the crisis. However, their long-term interest in outsourcing their manufacturing there remained.
