Bulgaria President Secures Joint Energy Projects with Greece

Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov, and Greek Prime Minister, Georgios Papandreu, have firmly stated their common will to work on big energy projects between the two countries. Parvanov is on an official visit to Greece on the invitation of his Greek counterpart, Karolos Papulias.

His trip concluded at a business forum where the oil pipe line Burgas - Alexandroupulis was one of the discussed energy projects. Parvanov said the work on the successful completion of the line is connected to more guarantees for the environment on the part of the two countries.

The Bulgarian President further told the Greek businessmen that there are over 4 000 Greek companies in Bulgaria while the presence of Bulgarian companies in Greece is lagging behind, stressing on the need to help securing a stronger Bulgarian business presence in the southern neighbor.
