Kenneth Garret compares Perperikon with Egyptian Pyramids

Date: 07.05.2006

Eminent photographer of the National Geographic, Kenneth Garret, has compared the ancient Thracian sanctuaries in Tatul and Perpericon with the Egyptian Pyramids, said archaeologist Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov.

A team from the popular magazine has arrived in Bulgaria to prepare an article about the Thracian cultural treasures.

Reportedly Bulgaria will find its place on the pages of the prestigious edition for the second time - the first material dedicated to our country's cultural monuments was published more than 30 years ago when Prof. Alexander Fol was Bulgaria's Minister of Culture.

Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov plans to go to Jordan to see on the spot how the approaches to the unique ancient city of Petra have been built. Some of the key construction decisions could be exploited in Perperikon.
