Smoke onboard! Passengers must be evacuated!

Date: 10.09.2006

Fifty Bulgarians Evacuated from Burning Plane

This frightening scream panicked the fifty passengers on board of Al Italia aircraft, most of whom were Bulgarians. The airplane was flying from Rome to Sofia, when smoke appeared onboard. The crew responded very adequately and on time. The plane made an emergency landing at the Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade at 10:35 p.m. Bulgarian time.

"There was panic onboard, but no passengers were hurt in the accident," the airport director told Journey.

The passengers were transported from Belgrade to Sofia by buses.
