Vanga's house becomes a museum

Date: 06.02.2006

"Vanga's house in Roupite locality will be turned into a museum. This was the clairvoyant's will," said Vladimir Dimitrov, municipal governor of Blagoevgrad. He has already initiated the procedure for the realization of the idea.

For years already the house in which Vanga has welcomed the people asking for her help has been decaying because of the institutions' indifference. Now nobody can enter it, because the state-owned building is locked. At the same time, people's interest in the life of the eminent clairvoyant is huge. Tourists from all over the world arrive in Roupite every day and disappointed with the locked doors try to see Vanga's room through the dusty windows.

For years the authorities have been promising that the house will be given to the Vanga foundation, which manages the whole complex. But the signing of the document itself has been postponed innumerable times.
