Bulgaria Air Offers Discount for SkyEurope Stranded Passengers

Date: 01.09.2009

The national carrier Bulgaria Air announced it will serve at preferential prices passengers of SkyEurope after the Slovakia-based low-cost airline ceased all operations on Tuesday.

Tickets for flights Sofia-Vienna and Vienna-Sofia will cost about EUR 100.

Earlier in the day SkyEurope, which had sought protection from creditors in June, advised travelers who are already at their destinations with return flights booked on the airline to purchase a one-way ticket on another carrier at their own expense.

Thousands of passengers of the Slovak airline were stranded on Tuesday after the budget carrier stopped its flights and filed for bankruptcy the previous day.
