Archeologists, whose leaders are professor Nikolay Ovcharov and Dr. Hitko Vachev, found a collective find at the foot of Tsarevets top- Tzar Ivan Shishman’s treasure of sixth golden coins. More coins from Bulgarian Tsar Mihail Shishman, Tsar Ivan Alexander of Bulgaria and silver coins from Sultan Bayazid and his inheritors from the first half of the 15th century were also found, FOCUS News Agency reporter informed.
“St. Ivam Rilski church was very rich and the finds that excavate there shows the same. We found more than 100 coins from 13th and 17th century. It is a collective find- Bulgarian Tsar Ivan Shishman treasure of six golden coins”, Professor Ovcharov explains. He added that the church is twelve meters long in its main part and it has narthex and trihedral apse. The archeologists excavate a second narthex, which will be revealed from now on.
