Shopping mall for EUR 40 M to be built in Bulgaria's Turgovishte

Date: 04.09.2008

The Greenfield Bulgaria company is going to invest about EUR 40 M in the first shopping mall in northeast Bulgaria, which will be located in the city of Turgovishte.

The news was announced on Tuesday by representatives of the company and the Turgovishte Mayor Krasimir Mirev, who is the former Chair of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria.

According to the investment plan, the new shopping center will be located on the Sofia-Varna highway, and will be completed by the end of 2010. The construction permit is expected by February 2009.

The complex will have a total built-up area of 40 000 square meters. The Turgovishte Mayor said the investment was very important for the city, which has one of the highest unemployment rates and lowest standards of living in Bulgaria.
