Bulgaria PM, Vladimir Putin Open Business Exhibit

Date: 27.04.2009

Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, inaugurated Monday in Moscow an industrial and trade exhibit.

The exhibit's launch is part of Bulgaria's PM official visit to Moscow from April 26 to 28.

About 200 Bulgarian tourist, construction, machining, electronics, wine and food-producing companies will present, until April 30, their products on an area of 3 500 square meters.

The exhibit will later travel to other Russian cities.

At the opening, Putin said that while Russia's investments in Bulgaria amount to hundreds of millions, the Bulgarian ones in Russia were only 13 millions, adding the possibilities were much better.

Earlier Monday, Stanishev lectured at the Diplomatic Academy at the Russian Federation's Foreign Ministry.

The PM said that the January gas crisis had a negative influence on Bulgaria's trust in both the Ukraine and Russia.

"If Bulgaria had received even a single written warning that gas supplies would be halted, we would have been prepared. As result of the crisis, our country faces EUR 250 M in losses," Stanishev stated.
