Serbia EFT Group Tops Hungary Cross Border Energy Market

Date: 13.08.2009

In 2008 EFT delivered over 13 000 Gigawatt hours of energy and achieved a turnover of nearly EUR 1 B.

The Serbian EFT Group has become the leading company operating at the Hungarian cross border energy trading market. The official information has been published by the Hungarian Energy office (www.eh.gov.hu).

"EFT accounted for one third of all energy exported from Hungary and almost one quarter of all energy which was imported into the country in 2009. Our total market share is 27%, which ranks EFT as the number one cross border energy trader in the country. The result is especially pleasing considering that in this territory we have managed to outstrip the performance of European energy giants such as E.On, EDF, CEZ and Electrabel", EFT's chairman, Vuk Hamovic, said.

In 2008 EFT delivered over 13 000 Gigawatt hours of energy and achieved a turnover of nearly EUR 1 B.

EFT Group is a leading Serbian company dealing with energy trading and investments in key energy projects. Its field of operation is Central and South-Eastern Europe, and around 65% of its total sales of energy are for European Union member countries.
