The food prices at the Bulgarian market have fallen towards 2006 levels since the beginning of 2009. This has become clear in a research of the State Agency on Stock Exchange on prices since 1999 issued Monday.

According to it, the prices have started decreasing in the beginning of 2009 and are currently at 2007 levels, showing tendencies to go down to 2006 levels.

The Agency points out that in 2007 the prices rapidly increase over the drought in that year. However in 2008 and 2009 they became stable.

In August almost all foods are cheaper than in July, the research showed. The biggest decrease is in the prices of the sunflower oil - down by 41%, while the flour became cheaper by 25 %. The diary products prices have gone down by 15% in August month-on-month.

The lemons have become more expensive by 21% in the same period. The most stable price on the Bulgarian Market is the one of the watermelons. In the last five years it has stayed around BGN 0,30.
